I do not know if you ran across this site, but the site S3D Connector offers a great multiplayer version of Settlers of Catan that also has Seafarers of Catan built right in. You have to download the game client, but honestly I have seen a lot and I like this one the best.
Your site is great, by the way.

Hi, I don’t know if you still look at this post, but I would like to ask you something. Can you explain to me how the ship works on this game? I thought that they were like bridges about the water, but did not work.
Thanks =)

oh no, the ships are used so that you can trade ( example: when you reveal a ship it says: 1:3? ( it means 3 of anything for 1 something ) or it says 2 ( wood ) : 1 ( anything ) .. .. .

The ships are roads that buy for 1sheep 1wood and can be built from settlements/cities located adjacent to an ocean tile. A new settlement can then be built at a new tile (2 spaces away rule still applies) connected by the ships as if they were roads. Some versions give you a 1VP for building a new settlement on an uncolonized island. In some versions ships DO count towards longest road but might not unless connected to said road by a settlement.

Does anyone happen to know what happened to the ASO Xplorers site? My husband and I have been playing for so long but haven’t been able to access the site for the past week or so.
Does anyone know of another site that hosts a similar game?
Thank you!

I just came across this site and noticed the link to http://www.s3dconnector.net/ – my husband created and maintains that settlers site so I’m very happy to see it listed here! He wrote the program for it years ago and has added Seafarers and Cities and Knights – I think it’s the best free site to play Settlers out there, but I may be a little biased :)

The above website doesn’t work, Rachel.
I used to be an AsoBrain user as well, but no longer have access. Any further information on this issue? Anyone know where I can play the game online for free?

Yes… I was just on the site and discovered they will not take new members anymore. I think the programmer got fed up with constant complaining, etc
If you had an account you are in luck but as of now he will not budge on taking new members ( At ASO Brains)
