  • Play Online Games , Learn AND Help Feed the Hungry

    By Lisa - Homeschooling Mom

I have written often about the online game site Freerice that is run by UN World Food Program .
An update on those who enjoyed playing the word game the site offered. For those who don;t know freerice.com arranges for its sponsors to donate rice to hungry nations. Based on the points you earn by guessing correctly they will donate a set amount of rice. This has been thoroughly investigated and IS legitimate.

I am updating because the site now offered many more categories other than the word game.
You can play in different categories- Art,Math , Geography and Chemistry have now been added.
This a great way to help feed the hungry and have fun while do it.
    I LOVE this concept.

Another great charity site is AIDtoCHILDREN.com. It donates money to
children in need through World Vision.

      Check it out at http://www.aidtochildren.com

Cool… I never knew about the free rice site. I played for a while and it was very entertaining. It seems like a few grains of rice are pretty trivial, but when you play for about 15 minutes it adds up.

Also, just think about the thousands of visitors it must get every day…

Wow. What a great concept. I think that people will be much more likely to do something if they are helping. I can think of a lot more types of websites that could benefit from this idea.
